Club Penguin employees losing their jobs!

I have news that makes me sad and mad! According to info at Castanet Employees for Disney's Club Penguin in Kelowna, Los Angeles and Brighton have lost their jobs! Approximately, 30 people were laid off in Kelowna, there were even more fired in Los Angeles and the Club Penguin Brighton office shut down COMPLETELY! This makes me sad as I am fairly close to Brighton's old Club Penguin office and was hoping to go there soon! :'( Why are they doing this?! Well, a laid-off employee says that Club Penguin staff were told membership numbers are way down and the company is not doing well. Disney Interactive released the following statement to Castenet about the lay-offs.

''Disney interactive continually looks to find ways to create efficiencies and streamline our operations. As part of this ongoing process, we are consolidating a small number of teams and are undergoing a targeted reduction in workforce.

This makes me feel gutted for both myself and ALL the laid-down Employees! I hope they all find a new job soon! This also means serious damage to Mod Meetups and there will be no more Daffodaily5 meetups as SHE has been laid off as well! I guess my postcard from Daffodaily5 isn't so special anymore... :( Why CP??
